Questions

Good things to ask.

Short answers about safety, accounts, free podcasts and your data. If yours is missing, write to us.

Does my child need an account?

No. A grown-up creates the account and the profiles. For each child, Curio keeps a nickname, an avatar, an age group, languages and what they listened to.

Who decides which topics are allowed?

Every topic goes through a safety screen before anything is made. Settings, purchases and profiles are protected by your grown-up PIN.

Can I delete what you keep?

Yes. Delete one profile, or the whole account, in the app under Settings. You can also email us and we will delete it within 30 days. How to delete your account.

What do the lengths mean?

Podcasts come in 3, 6 or 10 minutes. Each one is written for an age group, such as 5 to 7 or 8 to 11.

Are there ads inside the podcasts?

No. Nothing interrupts a podcast, and nothing is sold to your child. The app does not show ads.

What is free?

A new free podcast arrives every day, and your first 3 podcasts of your own are on us.

How long does a podcast take to make?

A few minutes. You can leave the screen, and Curio tells you when it is ready. A topic that someone has already asked for can play at once.

Can a podcast contain a mistake?

Yes. Curio checks its script against its research, but podcasts are made with AI and can still be wrong. If you spot a mistake or something that should not be there, email us the topic and the title and we will look at it. Contact support.

What does Curio keep about my child?

No more than a nickname, an avatar, an age group, languages and what they listened to. We do not ask for birth dates, photos or contact details. The full list is in the privacy policy.

When does Curio use the microphone?

Only while you hold the microphone button to say a topic. The recording is sent to be turned into text and is not kept by us.

How do I cancel a subscription?

In your store account, not in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel it. The steps for iPhone, iPad and Android are on the subscriptions and refunds page.

Which phones does Curio run on?

iPhone, iPad and Android phones. Get it from the App Store or Google Play on the download page.
