You stay in charge.
Curio is built so that a grown-up decides what happens, and so that your child hears a story, not an advert.
- No ads inside
- Nothing interrupts a podcast, and nothing is sold to your child.
- Every topic is screened
- A safety screen runs on the topic before anything is made.
- A PIN for grown-ups
- Settings, purchases and profiles stay behind a PIN that you set.
- A profile for each child
- A nickname, an avatar, an age group and languages. Delete a profile and its history goes with it.

Only what it needs.
A grown-up creates the account and the profiles. Children do not need an account of their own.
For each child, Curio keeps
- A nickname and an avatar
- An age group and languages
- What they listened to, where it stopped and whether it finished
Curio does not use
- Your contacts, photos or files
- Your location or health data
- Your advertising identifier
- Birth dates or contact details (nicknames that look like contact details are refused)

The app does not show ads, and we do not sell your data. The full list is in the privacy policy.
The grown-up PIN, and the microphone.
Settings, purchases and profile changes are protected by a grown-up PIN that you set, unless the profile is set to Adults.
Curio listens only while you hold the microphone button to say a topic. The recording is sent to be turned into text and is not kept by us.
Yours to take back.
Delete one profile and its history goes with it. Delete the account in the app under Settings and your profiles, listening history, ratings and the podcasts made for you go too. You can also email us and we will delete it within 30 days.
Made with AI, so mistakes can happen.
A safety screen runs on every topic before anything is made, and Curio checks each script against its research. Even so, a podcast can contain a mistake. If you hear one, tell us the topic and the title and we will look at it. If you want the thinking behind Curio, read about stories and recommended videos.
